Before you begin the ascent, a member of our team will be waiting for you at the entrance to Vesuvius National Park to provide you with everything you need for the experience. You’ll receive your ticket and a handy printed guide to help you interpret what you come across along the way.

From then on, you’ll be able to make your own way along the Great Cone Trail. The path climbs up the slopes of the volcano until it reaches the crater area, passing through a landscape of volcanic rock that changes as you gain altitude.

Once at the top, you’ll be able to get a close-up view of the crater and enjoy panoramic views over the Gulf of Naples. On clear days, the vastness of the landscape makes the climb one of the most special experiences in the area.

The visit does not include a guided tour, so you can spend your time walking, stopping at the viewpoints and exploring the surroundings by following the instructions in the printed guide.
