  I’ll stick with the ferry ride to Alcatraz and the views of the bay. The bus tour was a good way to get to know the city.

  It was a busy but lovely day. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes because you end up walking further on Alcatraz than you might think.

  The bus took us past some recognisable landmarks and then the ferry was a brilliant change of scenery. The prison is quite impressive.
