If there's one thing about Malaga, it's that it's so vibrant that it can be explored in so many different ways. One of the ways I like the most to do a good reconnaissance tour of the city is on foot.

On the other hand, you have other options such as the segway or the tuk tuk, both very popular in the city, and which also represent an interesting and fun activity to include among the things to see and do in Malaga, but they are not the only tours you can experience in the city, let me tell you more.

1. Express Tour of Malaga in an electric tuk tuk tuk

The Tuk Tuk is one of the most fun means of transport that you can use in Malaga. You will get on it and get to know everything the city has to offer. During the tour you will be accompanied by an expert guide who will explain everything you need to know about Malaga, its culture and history.

On this tour you will see the most interesting places of the city, from the Cathedral to places with a lot of history such as the Alcazaba, the Gibralfaro Castle, the University of Malaga, the Bank of Spain, among other places of tourist interest.

Interesting details

  • Price: Approximately 34 euros per person.
  • Duration: It lasts approximately one hour touring the city.
  • Means of transport: You will have to get to the departure point on your own. Once the tour departs, it is completed in the electric tuk tuk.
  • Advantages of this experience: A tour guide is included as an escort who will tell you what you need to know about Malaga and its culture. All the equipment and explanations necessary for you to use the electric Tuk Tuk are included. If you do this experience in winter, you have access to blankets for the cold and you can put on the wind and rain cover that the Tuk Tuk has.
  • Disadvantages of this experience: It is not wheelchair accessible. Babies are not allowed on the tour, being 2 years old the minimum age to participate. In case of delay, the route will be modified and the trip will be reduced by the time of the delay. The route may be cancelled in the event of a delay of 15 minutes or more.

2. Sightseeing bus tour of the entire city of Malaga

One of the things I like most about this Malaga city sightseeing bus tour is that it allows you to see the city both by land and by water. The flexible city pass is a real gem because you have access to take part in a boat trip from Malaga along the Costa del Sol, but you also have the chance to ride the bus all around the city centre and the surrounding area of Malaga.

In the case of the Malaga tourist bus, you can get on one or all three lines offered by this service. You have 24 hours to get on the bus and not miss a single place of tourist interest in the city. One of the biggest advantages of this service is that it takes you from some of the top 10 museums in Malaga, to more relaxed places like the coast and beaches.

During the tour you can choose to listen to the whole audio guide without getting off the bus and looking at each of the interesting places, or you can get off as many times as you want at each of the stops to walk around each of the tourist sites.

Interesting details

  • Price: Around 25 euros per person.
  • Duration: If you do the whole tour without making any stops, it can take between 30 and 80 minutes.
  • Means of transport: The whole tour is done by tourist bus. You must make your own way to the stop closest to your place of accommodation.
  • Advantages of this experience: It is a tour with audio guide in many languages. You have three lines to choose from and get to know the most iconic places in the city and some of the nearby towns.
  • Disadvantages of this experience: No snacks or drinks, no transfer from your hotel or back, but you do have the option to buy one if you take the boat trip.

This is not a tour to stop at every single monument and go inside, but rather a panoramic tour of a city that mixes the ancient with the dizzyingly modern.

Among the sights you will see during your tour of the area are Malaga Cathedral, Calle Larios, the Central Market of Atarazanas, among other icons of the city of Malaga.
