If there is one city in Spain where it is impossible to get bored, it is Benidorm, a lively coastal town that has become one of the main tourist destinations both nationally and for the rest of Europe. Benidorm offers its visitors an endless number of activities and things to see and do both in and around the town.

This town in Alicante was once a small fishing village, but today it is a popular holiday destination on the Mediterranean coast and is frequented by young people, couples and even families with children, due to its wide range of activities, shops and entertainment venues to spend an unforgettable few days.

1. Marvel at the beauty of the Mediterranean on a boat trip

As you may already know, one of Benidorm 's main tourist attractions are its beaches and the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea that stretch out before them. So, as well as taking a refreshing swim and soaking up the sun while relaxing on the sand, I encourage you to go a little deeper into the waters that bathe this tourist town so you can contemplate its beauty from another perspective.

So, the first activity I'm going to suggest is that you book a boat tour of Benidorm, as it will be a fantastic opportunity to admire the Alicante coastline while you relax and enjoy nature during a peaceful stroll. Also, depending on the tour you decide to book, it may include some extras such as the option to enjoy alcoholic drinks during the trip.

2. Have fun in a refreshing Water Park

Whether you're travelling to Benidorm with children or not, taking a trip to one of its best water parks is always an exciting and fun activity that will give you a great time. Therefore, my second recommendation for you is that if you travel to Benidorm, don't miss Aqualandia, a park for the whole family where you can find attractions for all tastes.

In Aqualandia you can find high water slides to slide down, numerous pools where you can cool off and different play areas and children's areas for the little ones. In addition, depending on the type of fun you are looking for, you will have the opportunity to choose between three different routes to follow throughout the extensive park.

The first route is the quietest and is designed for families and for people who are not fans of thrills and spills. The second is the friends route and along the way you will pass through both more relaxed attractions and some more thrilling ones. And finally, the third and last one is the extreme route, designed for adrenaline lovers. But the most important thing of all is that with this plan you will have a day you will never forget.

If you're a sports enthusiast or simply looking for a thrilling experience, a perfect activity to do during your trip to Benidorm is to go on a kayak tour. The surroundings of Benidorm are full of beautiful coves of golden sand and calm waters which are ideal for this exciting water sport.

Furthermore, if you decide to go on a kayak tour around Benidorm, you will have the opportunity to enter mysterious sea caves, which can only be accessed by this means of transport, or sometimes small boats. During the trip, you can glide through the blue waters of the Mediterranean while you contemplate the beauty of the natural landscapes around you.

Of course, during the whole activity you will be accompanied by a team of experts who will explain the secrets of this fun sport and guide you through the most interesting corners of the coast. And if that wasn't enough, some of these tours even include the option of snorkelling so you can contemplate the spectacular seabed.

Benidorm enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with August being the warmest month with an average temperature of around 31ºC and January the coldest, with an average temperature of 17ºC. Rainfall in this locality is scarce, however, the rainiest months would be from September to November, March and April. Therefore, based on the weather, the most pleasant months to travel to Benidorm would be from May to August.

However, it should be noted that during these months the tourist influx is at its highest, so prices inevitably rise. The peak season would be during the months of July and August, so accommodation at this time can be difficult to find if not booked well in advance and establishments such as bars and restaurants can be quite full.

With all this in mind, my advice if you are planning a trip to the lively town of Benidorm, is to do so between the months of May and August so that you can enjoy the ideal weather and fantastic beaches. However, I strongly recommend that you book your accommodation well in advance to avoid excessive price hikes or a lack of choice of accommodation available. I would also encourage you to book your activities and tickets well in advance of your trip, so that you don't have the unpleasant surprise of being fully booked or having no tickets left.

If you've already decided that lively Benidorm is going to be your next holiday destination, read on for some tips on how to make the most of your trip:

Book your accommodation well in advance

Benidorm has become one of the most popular holiday destinations both nationally and internationally. As a result, hotels and holiday rental flats are packed during the high season months. Moreover, their prices tend to rise. So my first piece of advice is to get ahead of the rest of the tourists and book your accommodation well in advance.

Book excursions and activities in advance

As with accommodation, if you travel to Benidorm in high season, the places available for certain activities or excursions may be fully booked. It is therefore advisable to book your activities before you travel to make sure you don't miss out on anything in this fun city.

Dress appropriately for the occasion

As mentioned above, Benidorm has a Mediterranean climate, with pleasant temperatures in both summer and winter and no excessive rainfall.

With this in mind, if you're travelling to Benidorm in the summer, it's best to pack light and cool clothing, as well as comfortable clothes for sightseeing. Of course, don't forget your swimming costume, as Benidorm's beaches are one of its main attractions.

If you are travelling to Benidorm during the winter, you should bring some warm clothing, especially at night. However, it is not too cold in this area, so you can wear lighter clothing for the rest of the day. Don't forget to bring comfortable shoes for your walks.

Take sunscreen and sunglasses

Whether you travel to Benidorm in winter or summer, you're likely to find sunny weather, as rainfall is rare in this part of the country. Therefore, it is always advisable that both your eyes and your skin are well protected from the sun, so sunscreen and sunglasses should be a must in your luggage.

In addition, sunscreen should be suitable for your skin type and the time you will be exposed to the sun and sunglasses should have UV protection and it is recommended that they are also polarized.
