Experience Highlights

Discover three of Catalonia’s most special destinations with this day trip to Girona, Figueres and Cadaqués from Barcelona. In a single day, you’ll combine medieval streets, surrealist art and the landscapes of the Costa Brava, with organised transport from the city.

You can choose between a self-guided option, to explore each stop at your own pace with recommendations along the way, or a guided tour, which includes explanations and guided walks at the main points along the itinerary.

You can also round off the experience with admission to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, one of the most unique venues dedicated to the artist and a must-see in the city.

  • Explore Girona, Figueres and Cadaqués on a full-day excursion

  • Choose between exploring the destinations at your own pace or on a guided tour

Step by Step

The tour begins in Barcelona and heads for Girona, a city characterised by its medieval past. During the stop, you’ll be able to explore sights such as the Cathedral, the old Jewish quarter, the city walls and the Eiffel Bridge over the River Onyar, surrounded by the famous colourful houses of the historic centre.

The next stop is Figueres, the birthplace of Salvador Dalí. Here you’ll have time to explore the town centre and, if you choose the option that includes it, visit the Dalí Theatre-Museum, a space conceived by the artist himself where architecture, sculpture, painting and surrealism form part of a single experience.

You’ll then continue on to Cadaqués, one of the most iconic villages on the Costa Brava. Its white houses, narrow streets and Mediterranean bay create an atmosphere completely different from that of the first two stops. You can stroll through the centre, visit the Church of Santa María or enjoy the views by the sea.

The excursion can be undertaken independently, making use of the transport and recommendations to explore each destination at your own pace, or as a guided tour, which includes accompanied walks and historical context during the visits.

The full experience lasts approximately 11 hours and brings together three very different landscapes in a single day: medieval Girona, Dalí’s Figueres and the seaside atmosphere of Cadaqués.

I really enjoyed the rich history and natural beauty of Gerona, Figueras and Cadaqués, but the time in each place seemed a bit rushed.
