Step by Step

Enjoy a day of sun, beach and water sports with this excursion to the islands of San Blas from Panama City. Join this boat trip to the islands of Waily, Pelican and Perro in small groups of around 20 people and relax on the beaches and soak up the sun. Explore small palm islands, find one of the best reefs for snorkelling , and enjoy swimming in the natural pools or paddle boarding a kayak or paddle board. Admire the turquoise seas, gaze at the white sandy beaches and observe the beautiful local flora and fauna.

In addition to all this, this excursion also includes the pick-up and drop-off service to your hotel, as well as a welcome with typical food and drinks . With an early morning pick up from your hotel, you will travel in a 4x4 Jeep for a couple of hours to the port of San Blas. Once in port, you will board a boat and enjoy a beautiful boat trip to the first of the islands.

Your first stop will be Waily Lodge Island, which includes beautiful private cabins to stay in. Sit down for a light breakfast and then have a snack or appetizer for lunch . After this delicious meal, head to the white sandy beaches and opt to sunbathe on one of the sun loungers, with an umbrella and towels available. Or if you prefer, explore the crystal clear waters with snorkelling equipment and kayaks .

Next you'll head to Pelican Island, a true Panamanian paradise made famous by the Spanish TV series "La Casa de Papel". Spend a few minutes on this small island and have a drink at the beach bar while admiring the incredible tropical scenery.

Then grab your paddleboards and snorkelling gear and paddle over to the island of Ucubusi, where you'll see one of the best reefs for snorkelling. Dive into the crystal clear waters, explore the beautiful marine life and marvel at the variety of colourful fish species .

Continue your journey to Dog Island and snorkel around a sunken ship full of tiny fish. During this tour you'll also visit a natural pool, where you'll see an abundance of starfish, as well as learn about the Guna community and their indigenous culture. Finally, you will sail back to the harbour and return to your Panama City hotel in the evening.

Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to enjoy the tranquillity and serenity that nature offers in the San Blas Islands. The sound of the waves and the sea breeze enveloped us, creating a relaxing atmosphere.

The scenery we witnessed during the boat trip between the islands was simply breathtaking. The mountains in the distance, the palm trees on the coast and the blue waters created a dreamlike setting.

The time we spent on each island was enough time to enjoy all the activities on offer, such as walking along the shore, swimming in crystal clear waters or simply relaxing in a hammock under a palm tree.

The food served during the tour was delicious and authentic. We enjoyed traditional dishes prepared with fresh seafood and local flavours that transported us to the heart of Panamanian cuisine.

Other Things You Should Know

In this activity there will be around 20 people maximum.
Child seats or child seats available.
Babies should sit on an adult's lap.
You must carry your original passport. Without it you will not be able to enter San Blas.
It is recommended to bring a swimming costume, as well as a towel, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
You can bring a cooler, with extra drinks, water, snacks and soft drinks.
Pick-up time is at 5.20 a.m., waiting time can be up to 30 minutes. Please be punctual at the reception and wait for the arrival of the driver in a 4x4 car. In case of no-show or delay, a penalty equivalent to the cost of the booking will be applied.
If you need to be picked up in Costa del Este or near the airport, the pick-up time will be between 5:45 and 6:00.
The actual time on the Islands is approximately 5 hours.
Departure from the island is at 15:30.
There are no ATMs in San Blas and only cash payments are accepted.
Please note that San Blas is a protected indigenous reserve. All services are basic and rustic in nature, as only the Guna community can offer them to tourists. Waiting times can be long and treatment will be more informal.
In the event of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions or not reaching the minimum number of participants for the activity, you will be offered a change of date or a full refund of the amount paid.
