Step by Step

After adjusting your helmet and goggles, your guide explains how to control the throttle and keep your balance on steep descents. You soon leave the tarmac for a Paris-Dakar rally track where the reddish dust announces your arrival in the deep desert. The engine roars, the suspension absorbs the bumps, and suddenly the great sand wall of Erg Chebbi appears before you.

As you conquer the first dune, the horizon becomes infinite and all you can hear is the whirring of the quad and the wind carving the ridges. A photo stop at a hidden oasis allows you to stretch your legs, take a sip of water and discover how the Berber nomads used these natural wells for their journeys.

The route continues at a dynamic pace, with switchbacks on gentle slopes, pulse-racing descents and a final stretch where the guide invites you to try your hand at top speed in complete safety. If you have chosen the sunset time, the sand takes on orange tones and the shadows lengthen to form an unreal landscape worthy of a postcard.

Back at the base, a refreshment and the dust on your clothes certify that you have experienced an intense hour of adrenaline in the heart of the Sahara. The staff will give you advice on how to clean your equipment and recommendations for other plans in Merzouga, such as the classic camel ride or a night under the stars.
