Step by Step
Forget the typical gondolas and masks: board this covered boat and cruise around the Venice Lagoon while discovering a different side of the city. Along the way, you'll see the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, its public gardens and the Lido before arriving in Murano, the birthplace of Venetian glass since the 10th century.
In Murano, you will attend a live demonstration of glassblowing in one of its famous furnaces and then you will have 75 minutes of free time to visit workshops, shops and the small glass museum.
The next stop is Burano, the "jewel of the lagoon": you will spend 90 minutes strolling through its colourful streets, watching the lace artisans and photographing its canals and brightly coloured facades.
After a short cruise, you will arrive at Torcello, the first inhabited island in the lagoon. With 1 hour of free time, you can admire the Byzantine mosaics of the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta and breathe in the tranquillity of its medieval ruins.
Your guide will reveal legends and curious facts about each island, from anecdotes of merchants to the evolution of these small communities which, although quiet today, forged the wealth of Venice.
