Rome Catacombs and Crypts Guided Tour

Escape the hustle and bustle of the city of Rome, and enter the underground crypts where you will learn some of the stories of the ancient Roman Empire. In addition, this guided tour, which lasts approximately 3 and a half hours, includes the journey between the different monuments. You'll enter two of the city's most emblematic sites, without having to wait in line at either of them. In addition, you'll have a more personalised experience as you'll be in a small group of around 18 people.

You will visit the Crypt of the Bones, where you will be able to appreciate one of the dark sides of the city. The Capuchin monks decorated this crypt with the bones of 4000 of their companions , giving it the name of the 'Chapel of Bones'. The expert guide will explain the possible theories behind this fact, but it is up to you to draw your own conclusions from what you observe. In addition, these crypts are also full of hidden tunnels where Christians hid when their religion was forbidden.

You will then visit some of the most important catacombs in the city. Depending on the day, you will be able to visit one or the other, but from all of them you will come away with interesting facts that your expert guide will give you.

Finally, you will walk along Rome's ancient Appian Way with its aqueducts.
