Step by Step

The Tuscany 3-day bus pass is designed for those who want to explore the region at leisure and without rushing. For 72 hours from the first use, you can move freely between Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca and San Gimignano, using the buses specifically dedicated to these routes, which combine practical routes with postcard-perfect scenery.

The great advantage of the pass is its flexibility: you can start in any of the participating cities and at any time that suits you within the operating period. You can dedicate a full day to Florence, use another day to visit Pisa and Lucca, and reserve the third day to visit Siena and San Gimignano, or return to the city you've fallen in love with the most. There's no set order: the pass adapts to the way you travel, whether you prefer to see everything or like to see fewer places.

Buses follow routes that criss-cross the Tuscan countryside and the Chianti wine region, passing through hills, vineyards, small villages and cypress-lined roads. Stops are within walking distance of the historic centre, so you can make the most of your days without wasting time on city transfers: from Piazzale Montelungo in Florence (about 13 minutes' walk from the centre) or the Pietrasantina car park in Pisa (about 13 minutes from the tower), to arrival points in Lucca, Siena and San Gimignano, designed to get you exploring almost immediately.

On each route you'll travel on buses equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and USB-C charging ports, allowing you to take advantage of the time en route to rest, check your schedule for the day or simply enjoy the scenery. You can take luggage with you (up to the stated limit per person), so it's also a practical option if you're changing base cities during these 3 days of travel.

Throughout the whole experience you will have a digital guide with artificial intelligence integrated into the service's app. This assistant allows you to consult routes, timetables and service status in real time, as well as showing you the main points of interest in each city and suggesting restaurants, viewpoints and authentic spots. It's like having a local companion in your pocket, helping you take advantage of the extra flexibility of a 3-day pass, both in terms of routes and stops.

In short, the 3-day pass is an excellent choice if you want to tour several Tuscan destinations efficiently, without a car or rigid timetable, and with enough time to repeat cities, discover new areas or simply enjoy Tuscany at a more relaxed pace.

It was the easiest way to get between Florence, Siena and Lucca without a car. En route you can organise yourself with the app and the digital assistant, and the time passes quickly looking at vineyards and hills.

If you like to improvise, this pass fits the bill. We changed the order and repeated Florence because we wanted to do it again. It's all quite simple: you get on, get off and carry on.

The walk from some stops (like Siena) is a bit more noticeable, but still manageable. I saw it as part of the plan, you get into the city little by little. On the bus, the air and being able to charge your mobile phone is great.

We liked the fact that the pass counts 72 hours from the first use, so you activate it when it suits you. We got a lot of use out of the journeys and didn't feel tied to a fixed itinerary.
