Step by Step

Paris’s Latin Quarter is a place with soul. On this two-hour free tour, you’ll immerse yourself in the living history of this district, which has witnessed student uprisings, cultural movements, scientific advances and literary gatherings.

Your guide will lead you through cobbled streets that inspired writers such as Hemingway, show you the Sorbonne, one of the world’s oldest universities, and tell you about key figures such as Marie Curie. You’ll also visit the majestic Panthéon, where figures such as Rousseau and Voltaire are laid to rest.

During the tour, you’ll also visit hidden gems such as Salvador Dalí’s sundial, the Roman baths at Cluny, and the legendary Shakespeare & Company bookshop. All this whilst learning how this area has evolved since its origins as a Roman settlement.

The walk ends at Place de la Contrescarpe, where you can continue the conversation over a drink in one of Hemingway’s favourite bars. This tour isn’t just cultural: it’s also personal, fun and has a local touch that makes it unique.

The tour is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Just make sure you arrive at the meeting point in good time and get ready to fall in love with Paris from a different perspective!
